The Honors Junior Golf Program
|
The Honors Junior Golf Program was founded in 2003. Its mission is to assist young men and women students between the ages of 9 and 18 in excelling in the game of golf.
|
The program currently supports 10 academically and athletically inspired youths. Our Juniors are positioning themselves to receive university golf scholarships, making significant contributions to their college golf teams or possible advancement to one of the professional golf tours.

Tournament Namesake: JW Lewis Sr.
For nearly two decades 'JW’ Lewis was the anchor of The Honors Golf Club Junior Golf Program. As the adoring father advisor, he brought the 'country-way of child raising' with encouraging support and golfing ethics to the juniors. He especially mentored juniors, Robbie Melton, Kiante Robinson, Christian Hobson, Kendel Hodges, Bear Hu and at that time, the first girl player, Shani Waite, and later Amari and Alona Avery. JW enthusiastically prepared the junior golfers for tournament play and created a winning reputation for the Honors Junior Golf Program, pre-teens often taking down high school seniors and graduates. For all his generous contributions of money, time and effort, we will continue to play this annual event bearing his name to commemorate his dedicated service.
